How it started

From my wedding invitation to a platform

In late 2025, while planning our wedding, my wife and I looked for digital invitations to save on costs. We found plenty of vendors but almost no platforms: a designer made the invitation in Canva, with high prices, three revisions included, a five-day wait and quotes over WhatsApp or email. Any extra change, like swapping a photo, cost extra.

The few platforms that existed handled RSVPs and guest lists, not the invitation itself. I built a first demo: I designed an invitation from scratch and turned it into a template you edit just by filling in your details. I used that demo for our wedding invitation and confirmed the idea worked. A few weeks later I started Invitazo from scratch as a real product.

The hardest parts

01

Pricing

I first set prices by comparing myself with digital invitation vendors, but I was comparing against the final product, not the service. What Invitazo sells is the platform: the experience and how easy it is to use. I changed the model several times until I landed on a single plan at an affordable, competitive price.

02

Anyone can use it

The goal is that someone who is 15, 30 or 45 can use it with no design knowledge. No drag and drop: which photo goes on the cover? Upload it and see it. Where is the event? Type it and it shows up on Google Maps. The interface went through several versions, each one more direct.

04

Beyond the code

Founder end to end

Besides designing and building the platform, I run the whole business. As CEO I sell: I meet with wedding planners and exhibit at wedding and event expos. On product, I turn feedback from customers and demos into changes. As CTO I manage my own technical debt. I also run marketing, with campaigns on TikTok, Meta and ChatGPT, plus administration and expenses.
